So Tuesday has become my favorite.
Staring into a new year back in January with overwhelming feelings of "in between" and "what's next" I began asking the Lord what He wants for me for 2016. I had a book proposal in the process and after spending much of 2015 focused on the manuscript I began a new year with a blank calendar. With a hungry heart starving for community, longing for encouragement in the mundane I cried out. And He heard me - He met me. He showed me the next step - not the whole year, just a next step.
Those steps have lead to Tuesday Table - launching Tuesday, May 3rd. YOU are invited to this closed group. In January I felt like the Lord lead me to encourage and connect His girls and talk about the things that threaten us from living out God's best plan, taking the topics to scripture. Simple. Three of the things I love most. Encouraging. Connecting. Scripture. Imagine that.
So I invited some girls to a table one night thinking it would only be a couple of times. Here we are in April, still going. We meet on Tuesday nights and talk about all the stuff that threatens to keep us from living free and living out God's best. Topics like comparison, compromise, fear, failure, surrender, doubt, disbelief, identity, inadequacy and feeling of not enough. We have honest, real and raw conversations around these and what God has to say about it. The Tuesday girls are fun, from diverse backgrounds, variety of ages, single, married, remarried, and from different churches across Nashville. They're real and they love Jesus and cheering each other on.
One of my greatest fears moving from Texas to Nashville almost two years ago was finding my people. Living one year in Austin, I learned how important community is and what it looks like. Community doesn't just happen. It flourishes in a safe place of engagement. The table is such an important place. It makes room for face to face conversations. It's a place to be heard, feel known, and be cheered on. We all have a deep need for connection and understanding. From the earliest scriptures, even in the temporary tabernacle, the table was a place of gathering and sharing. I'm completely grateful for the ones that sit around a table with me on a regular basis. Whether my back yard, a coffee shop, the kitchen, a restaurant or a vineyard. They are answers to a thousand prayers.
It's so easy to default to feelings of isolation. It's real. We all long to feel fully known and fully loved. And I think about all of you out there. So many of you don't have a place, time, or group to connect with like the little community that has been born at Frothy Monkey on Tuesday nights and it burdens me. Out of that burden, our little group wants to invite you to our table - the Tuesday Table. We want to invite you to our closed group where your heart will be well cared for with this team who is ready to interact with you on all the stuff. It's a place to connect, pray for, and encourage each other to live out God's best through scripture focused discussions on weekly Tuesday Topics, community, interactive conversations, video, live chats, real life stories and testimonies.
To gather at the table, come here! We launch on Tuesday, May 3rd. Subscribe here to receive the weekly content and conversation sheet.
